Would you kick this owl? Bad Medicine!
Besides the pointless cruelty, seems like a karma threat. Owls considered Big Medicine in most cultures.
Here's the video. It's a Barn Owl, Tyto Alba, one of the gentlest owls in the Western Hemisphere for goodness sakes.

Looks more like a Screech Owl to me. I don't even think juvenile Barn Owls look like that.
You are exactly right- a grey phase juvenile from the neighborhood. Only Owl photo I had. The soccer video shows the barn owl. Should have labeled it. Going to have them nesting again pretty quick and hope to see them.
