Happy Texas Independence Day!

Delegate at Washington-on-the-Brazos signed the Texas Declaration of Independence on this date in 1836. Santa Anna had laid siege to the Alamo and other Mexican armies were in the field. Santa Anna, the legitimate civil authority in Texas, declared the delegates to be bandits, rebels and outlaws.

If they didn't win they would be shot.
The Texas patriots did this so that we could live in a system that takes 50% of our income in taxes, makes seatbelts, inspections, licenses, insurance, property taxes, sales taxes, gas taxes, toll roads, franchise taxes and business taxes and public schools mandatory (but not for illegal aliens) and regulates our behavior in nearly every way, so let's CELEBRATE!
