Calvin Broadus gets it.

If I could push a magic button and turn the top 200,000 workers in the Mexican drug cartels into Catholic Nuns....how long do you think it would be before the drug trade resumed? Three months? Six months? A year? Is there anyone who thinks it would NOT rebuild itself?

Obama admits selling drugs in his books. Or the books someone wrote for him. You would think that would give him a perspective on the problem. (Isn't it cute in retrospect how Clinton couldn't even admit to inhaling? Oh my, the innocence of those years!)

It's way past time to end the drug war. We've tried it for 50 years and gotten...what? We've destroyed the Bill of Rights and created a police state. We've destroyed several countries around the world including Mexico. We've wiped out the legitimacy of our law enforcement agencies. We've spent a fortune and packed the jails, splintering families and tearing apart the lower income class and culture in America. On the plus side.......anyone?......anyone?

Veracruz fires their whole police force.

BAFTE and Justice department ship guns into Mexico, lander money and escort drugs into the US.

Snoop Dogg wants to puff up a big bong in the White House with the One!

The Taliban and Al-Queda are financed with the profits from the sales of __________.

I'm not even hitting the high points. Listen, I know it seems a little counter-intuitive, (The Children!!!!), and believe me, the budget and "fun" factor in the drug war for the LEO culture..I understand. (It IS fun! Big fun!) But it doesn't work. Isn't doing the same thing over and over and over the definition of insanity?

Update: Calvin gets BUSTED!!!

  1. Actually doing the same thing over and over again AND expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

  2. I have questions for pro-legalization proponents. I hope you will take the time to answer them.
Do we legalize only marijauna or all hard drugs like meth, heroin, and cocaine? If we don't legalize everything, won't the cartels and criminals simply switch to selling the still illegal drugs? Will people need a prescription to buy these drugs? Can they just go to the local CVS and pick up an 8-ball? Will there be a minimum age like 18 for tobacco or 21 for alcohol? Will there be a taxing structure like tobacco and alcohol? Will there be a metric and field sobriety test for driving while stoned like we currently have for alcohol?

If we legalize those drugs can you also make antibiotics, vicodin, oxycontin, etc OTC? I hate having to go to the doctor first to get a prescription everytime I have an allergy infection and headache and it would be nice to drop by the CVS, pick up some Cipro and a Vicodin OTC. I would also like syringes to be legal to buy without a prescription. I use them as oilers.

  3. If we made all the hard stuff legal and able to be purchased over the counter could the true junkies still afford to buy it? I'm sure it would be taxed to blue blazes and still pretty expensive. As a result the non-working junkies wold still resort to property crime (wealth redistribution) to feed their habit.

  4. Anon is correct here but there's another option:
Turn PRISON into a deterrent rather than a trade school. Let Sheriff Joe style prisons be nation wide for drug crimes. Separate "Minor" drug criminals from the rest and MAKE THEM WORK doing stuff county workers do (Or don't since they never have the manpower)

Then you deal with the cartel types... Sentences depending on crimes. Drugs involved+murder+DNA evidence+3=appeals and then bullet to the head...

IF you want to stop the war make the enemy pay and make it hurt. We coddle criminals and for it we get more of it.

War is the same way. We fought WW2 in 4 years on several country's.... NOW we fight 10 years on 2 country's... Where's the efficiency in that? sad.
